I won't be able to come over tomorrow. A few days ago, Jayce stopped responding to us and Viktor and I cannot rouse him no matter what we do. He seems all right for all that we can tell, but I don't wish to leave him for long.
[ Even if Viktor will be here, she worries if she stays too long away, something else might occur. It's not rational but her thoughts are too frayed to piece together well at this point. ]
I don't think so. When either of us touch him, he lights up as he did before. I want to hope that means he's alive. But Jayce hasn't been fully breathing for some time now so it's impossible to know.

Some monsters change like that. Get craggier over time, have hibernation periods where they camouflage themselves as boulders. Can't say what that kind of behavior would do for Jayce, though.
[And he's not sure he wants to guess, frankly. He and Gale can examine him from their areas of expertise, Gale can bring the food, and Pom can... well, do whatever he can do. The Imprint draws him toward watching over Mel, making sure she — more so than Jayce — is all right.]
[ But why now? She's still trying to dig up what she can through her channels to find any information possible about Golems. In the best case scenario, it would be because of his other soul; in the worst case scenario, it will be because of the Katalyth they're studying, and that is why she fears.
Her next message is slow to come. ]

[ So, no. But she has to be. She can't afford to be weak now, of all times. ]
It may well be a natural part of Jayce's natural soul. He and I found one of the golem creatures out in the woods, and it was very convincing as a rock before it sort of 'came to life'. It may be something they can do as a defense mechanism.
We could try administering some different stimuli to see if he will wake up.
[ Emotion wells up in her throat and threatens to choke her. She has to set the device aside and try to breathe around what she's feeling, to try and compose herself. This isn't the time for any of this. Now, more than ever, she has to be capable. She has to handle this. She has to be all right.
