[ It's beautiful craftsmanship. She can guess who it's from, though there's nothing to say it's from him at all. It's roomy, too, and that's a boon: there is plenty of room to accommodate the new growths of feathers as they come in while allowing her to actually have something to wear. She takes in all of the expert work done on it, realizing he truly undersold himself...but perhaps that had been the point. One can't be too cautious, after all.
She has it for perhaps twenty minutes before she realizes there is 1) no return address and 2) no other method of contact. Likely intentional...
For Pom, he may notice when he is next in the Valentia that there is a small watercolor painting of a bird (without the gold markings). In Mel's flowing script, she's written:
Thank you. It's beautiful. There is fabric for you when you want it.
And while she could be petty and force him to have to speak with her, she's left it outside of her room, wound up oh-so-carefully in a bag from the shop. It's not much, just two bolts, but would be enough to make some oversized garments for someone. The first is a light green color, fairly plain and nothing fancy. The other is purple, actually, but in a deeper shade than his hair color. She's included some basic thread, similar to what's been used on the garment he gave her. She...didn't get too much, wasn't sure if it was even something that would help, but it's there. No note, again. The picture will have to do. ]
[He has no idea if that picture is for him, but the fabric most likely is. The bolts are gone next time Mel looks - as well as the painting. If that was for someone else, it's his now. He's stolen worse, and besides: this is art, and it's a bird. He likes both of those things.]
